Community Relations for SOURCE
As you likely know, the community that makes up SOURCE believes that we leave a place better than how we found it. We also believe in working seamlessly with the community around us. We’ve put in hours working at the YMCA at Camp Keanae where the festival has been held the last two years, and this year at the festival we volunteered on a tarot farm in the community.
Russ Reina has volunteered to coordinate our efforts in community relations. His blog is here! Please let him know if you have ideas and want to get involved.
Please check out the community relations blog:

He’s also created a great slideshow on his myspace page.

SOURCE does not happen without each and every person who attends playing a part in it’s success. Every year, there are people who emerge who wash dishes, pick up MOOP (Matter out of place; i.e., garbage), transport stuff, build and take down structures… create art… in short everything to makes this event magical.
Thank you everyone for making this such an amazing festival.
Take a moment to thank someone whether it was a good friend or someone who you don’t even know.

Online sales are closed. We have no internet access at Camp Keanae thus closed down the website for ticket sales– because we wouldn’t know if you bought one. Tickets are now available at the gate for a limited time. If you did not purchase a ticket online or previously we cannot guarantee you will get in. If you already have a ticket, we will reserve a spot for you.
Check the ticket page for the phone number to call to find out if tickets are still available.
After long deliberation we decided to keep the ticket price at $175. We always wanted to keep the ticket price low and have had so many friends request discounts, we didn’t feel right raising the price. Day passes are also available, check this blog for earlier posts about day passes.
TICKETS WILL LIKELY SELL OUT. And when they do, it will be heartbreaking, but we will have to turn you away at the gate. Absolutely no new tickets will be issued once we reach capacity as in our agreement with our good friends and hosts at the YMCA.
Again, call the number on the ticket page to know for sure.
My guess, and this is only a guess is that you’ll be fine coming on Friday. I strongly urge you to come on Friday so that you can get settled and ground out. Saturday, my best bet, is that the festival will sell out. So come early.
The grounds are looking amazing. The crew has erected three large gathering structures for dancing, chilling and performance out on the field. We have most of the great art from last year and you’ll love the new installations. The gym even has lovely gallery walls.
We are so excited to share with you “The Great Expression”

WANTED: Joyful Volunteers
It’s almost time for us all to enjoy fantastic good vibes this weekend at Keanae at Maui’s second annual Source festival celebrating art, music, self expression and a whole lot more!
TIPS FOR 100% LOVE AND FUN THIS WEEKEND:
Source is a LEAVE NO TRACE event, which means that everyone MUST bring garbage bags to remove any trash and recyclables that come to Source.
Please bring your highest level of courtesy and willingness to participate. This means… PLEASE VOLUNTEER at Source!
Our festival runs smoothest when we all pitch in—this includes kitchen crew to ensure that we all eat; medical and safety crew; fire safety crew from dusk til dawn; cool heads crew to maintain happiness & good times for all Source attendees; gate crew, parking crew and MOOP patrol to ensure that the flow in and out of Source is beautiful and calm and that we leave YMCA Camp Keanae looking better than we found it! Other opportunities are also available for sign-up at the Source entry gate… We welcome your enthusiasm and look forward to hanging out with you having a wonderful time!
Sign up at the gate for at least 2 volunteer shifts and you’ll receive a complimentary SOURCE gift! (first come first served availability) MAHALO FOR YOUR HELP! WE LOVE YOU!
Bring rain gear and be prepared for muddy grounds—consider the potential weather—blazing hot sun, pouring rain and chilly nights—when packing your “all white” costume that may become all brown after 4 days at Keanae.
BRING A WATER JUG & YOUR OWN CUP FOR BEVERAGES! Bring extra food & snacks for yourself. Bring food, art, music, toys and smiles to share with others. We’re building more than a memory at Source…we’re building our community.
See you at Source!

Where: Camp Keanae, YMCA, Maui
The theme this year is “The Great Expression.” You can bring your art (music, artwork, installation, performance, lecture, discussion) or you can come and just participate in the fun.
We have fun. We are tolerant. We clean up after ourselves. We value Great Expression.
Tickets are $175 until Thursday at noon the 19th on the website and then will go up in price and be sold at the gate. For your benefit, assume tickets are no longer available on the website after Wednesday at midnight. Prices will go up at the gate and the event will likely sell out. Why not carpool?
If you have room or need a ride, post on the rideshare for SOURCE. We’re using craigslist for our rideshare forum, why re-create the wheel when craig did such a good job. Just query SOURCE.
